On January 7th, 2021 I tested positive for COVID. The symptoms were tough, but manageable. Some coughing, some light fever, some body aches. By January 8th, I had already felt better and all of my symptoms were gone.
But, because there is still the possibility of COVID after symptoms dissipate, I had to quarantine myself for 10 days after testing positive. The week and a half that followed, from January 9th to January 20th, was the closest I've come to hitting a rock bottom.
Isolation
Woke up every morning wanting to stay in bed
Embarrassed by the fact that I was living in my mom's room, when my parents were already self reliant by my age
Questioned what the fuck am I even doing. Am I bastardizing open source? Searched for other jobs
Recovery
Was able to go to the gym again
A user sent me a note of gratitude
A friend called me from out of the blue
I shifted my approach to writing to spend the time spitting out whatever was on my mind
